Making wishes come true

Granting wishes to seriously ill people

Genie's Wish is a charitable organisation focused on granting the wishes of children facing serious illness, hardship, or other challenges across England & Wales. Genie's Wish provides experiences, gifts or even practical support to help alleviate some of the emotional and financial burdens faced by children and their families. Through partnerships with donors, volunteers, and the community, the charity works to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, offering them a sense of happiness and normalcy during difficult times.

Deirdre’s Wish

Deirdre, 37, was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2023. Over the past 18 months, she has bravely faced an incredibly tough road, including IVF, chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, and the lasting impact of early menopause. Throughout it all, she’s remained strong for her four-year-old son and family, despite the physical and emotional toll. ✨

Deidre’s wish was to enjoy a special break with her son who adores lions, with an unforgettable overnight stay at the Lion Lodge at West Midlands Safari Park.

After their magical weekend, Deirdre shared:

“We are still coming down off an amazing time at the lion lodge. It was honestly incredible. The excitement yesterday morning was on par with Christmas, maybe even better!

Ruari’s Wish

One of our partners (Plan.com) donated the latest iPad for a little boy called Ruari who has Duchenne Muscluar Dystrophy, A genetic and progressive condition that causes severe muscle weakness and wasting. He relies on a motorised wheelchair and needs help with everyday tasks. He has a passion for writing stories and creating illustrations, which he can now do with his brand new iPad, thanks to plan.com.
